Having a training diary can really make your bulking up much more efficient and most professional bodybuilders use this method to keep track of their training. If you've made the decision to get the body you've dreamed of, a training diary can help you to stay focused and maintain your motivation.

When you keep track of your training it gets easy to give the right amount of training to all muscle groups and you're making sure that they are being worked in a proper way. It's great to have the ability to see how you are progressing over time and to know that you've improved your achievements.

A lot of people are surprised by the fact that they are able to increase the weights their lifting as fast as they are and it gets really fun when you're able to set new goals and know that you can achieve them.

All you need is a notebook, unless you prefer a proper training log. Make different columns in this book to keep track on different training aspects. The main ones should be: time and date, muscle group trained, used exercise, weight lifted and number of reps and sets.

In this book you can as well keep track of your nutritional intake. Use a different page, perhaps start from the back and make columns for: what you ate, time and estimated calories.

By making a plan for you training you can easier turn it into a part of your lifestyle. Make it a habit to once a week write down when you're planning to work out and which muscle groups you want to focus on at each session. When you have it all written down you'll find it harder to give yourself excuses for not going.

Setting goals is also a great way to stay motivated. Make realistic goals that you know you can achieve and let it be a bonus if you're able to go even further. Muscle gain can only be achieved if you focus a lot of your energy on it and give it the importance it deserves.

By doing this properly, it really helps you to keep your focus on what you want to achieve. The more of your mind that is set on muscle gain, the easier it gets. A training diary helps you to make your work out part of your lifestyle and by this you will be able to see the results.
