1)Tidy your outside space

Clear out the space and maximise the area by pruning back any overgrown area’s, ensure that when your potential purchasers arrive, the front garden space is empty of any waste collection, toys, cars and all gardening waste. You may be having a clear out as you are moving but prospective buyers don’t need to see it. It is usually men who notice how easily maintained the outside space is and having any excessive or overgrown space can really effect the chance of a sale.

2)Add some colourful features

Where you can, make your outside living space seem colourful by adding some floral touches. A simple touch is to add a set of pots or maybe a hanging basket and plant colourful healthy looking plants and for the next few months it will be appealing. Try to avoid heavily scented flowers as people have personal preferences and the wrong flower could leave a negative lasting impression. A real benefit of pots or baskets is they are relatively inexpensive and you can always take them to a new home.

3)Using your border

The border of your space should also be well maintained depending upon the perimeter of garden you have. If your house has a smaller outside space, blurring the boundaries with some taller plants but not too large can change the perspective and in some cases painting the walls a lighter colour. It can remodel the space, but ensure the chosen paint is neutral and complements the overall look. If your garden is on the larger side, show it off, with clearly defined edging ensuring that all fencing is well repaired and newly painted or any brickwork is pristine.

4)The entertainment space

If you have a well maintained clearly defined back garden space, use it to your advantage by creating a scene. Have a cleaned and stylish barbeque displayed with chair and tables, as if you use the space to entertain and relax frequently, even if this is not the case most likely purchasers can be sold by the idea of something rather than the reality. If you have the benefit of sunshine, maximise the effect by offering refreshment when they reach the back garden and invite them to sit and make themselves at home.

5)Add a water feature

If you feel something is missing and money is not really a problem then make a real impression by purchasing a designer water feature that is both beautiful and safe for children, it can make the tremendous feature that puts your property ahead of the others of equal price area.
